1.     Our terms

1.1      What these terms cover. These are the terms and conditions on which we sell our Burmese cats (the “Kitten” or “Cat” or “Cats”) to you.

1.2      Why you should read these terms. Please read these terms carefully. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide a Kitten or Cat to you and when you become responsible for the Kitten or Cat you are purchasing.

1.3      These terms form the legal contract between us and by trading with us, you are agreeing to be legally bound by them.

  1.      Information about Us

2.1     Who we are. We are Calista Cats. We are Licensed Breeders registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (the “GCCF”) under prefix ‘Calista’.

  1.     Our Cats and Kittens

3.1     Registration. All our Cats are registered with the GCCF/TICA and each Kitten is also registered with the GCCF and/or TICA at ten (10) weeks.

3.2      Health Reviews and Vaccinations. All our Kittens have their first check with our local vets at nine (9) weeks old this is called their Health Review (the “Health Review”). The Health Review consists of a full check including eyes, ears and heart murmurs, as well as a general health and this includes their first vaccination. They are then seen again by a veterinary nurse at twelve (12) weeks for their second vaccination.

3.3      Insurance. Every Kitten leaves with four (4) weeks free insurance with “PetPlan”. After this it is your responsibility to renew or take out further insurance for your Kitten.

3.4.    Where we sell our Kittens and Cats. Please note that where ever you live, if you would like to purchase one of our Kittens or Cats, you will need to arrange to collect the Kitten or Cat from our home in Surrey. We do not deliver the Kittens at all. Please also note that we will not cover any travel expenses you incur in relation to viewing, reserving, purchasing or collecting a Kitten or Cat from us.

  1.    Price and payment

4.1     Price of the Kitten or Cat. You will be notified of the price of your Kitten when you first enquire, or alternatively, the price will be listed on the advertisement. Some Kittens vary in price due to variance in colour, breed or lineage.

4.2 When you pay and how you pay. Once you have paid the Deposit (details below) you will then need to make the final payment one (1) full day prior to the date you arrange to collect the Kitten or Cat. Please note, you will need to pay via Bank Transfer. We do not accept payments via cheque and we do not take card payments. We will provide bank details for you to make your payments.

  1. Reserving your Kitten or Cat with us – paying a Deposit

5.1 Contacting us to reserve your Kitten or Cat. If you would like to reserve a Kitten or Cat, you can notify us via a texting or calling us on: 07861 437150 or emailing: info@CalistaCats.com.

5.2 Arranging to view your Kitten or Cat. Viewings are by appointment only using the contact methods above. Under no circumstances can you arrive to view a Kitten or Cat without making prior arrangements with us.

5.3 Paying the Deposit. Our Kittens and Cats sell very quickly once we advertise that a litter has become available. Once you have reserved a Kitten or Cat and we have accepted that reservation, you will then have twenty-four (24) hours to send us a non-refundable Deposit of £250.00 (the “Deposit”) via Bank Transfer using the bank details we will provide to you.

5.4 If you do not pay your Deposit in full, within twenty-four (24) hours, then we will then be entitled to offer the Kitten or Cat to someone else, after twenty-four (24) hours has
passed.

  1. Collecting your Kitten or Cat to take to its new home.

6.1 Collection by you. Collecting your Kitten or Cat must be by appointment only using the contact methods above. Under no circumstances can you arrive to collect a Kitten or Cat without making prior arrangements with us.

  1. Ownership and liability for the Kitten or Cat – when you do you become responsible?

7.1 Please note, the Kitten or Cat will become your responsibility from the point where you collect your Kitten or Cat from us. The health, nutrition and general welfare of the Kitten is your responsibility once you have picked your Kitten up from our home.

  1. Liability

8.1 Please be aware that all our Kittens and Cats undergo a Health Review at nine (9) weeks.

8.2 Whilst our Kitten and Cats health and welfare is our main priority at all times, we rely on our vets to identify any health problems or deformities during this Health Review and ANY problems with ill-health or fitness identified after you have collected your Kitten or
Cat, will not be the responsibility of Calista Cats.

8.3 We do not accept any further liability after the Kittens or Cats have let our home. We cannot be expected to know any more than a fully qualified vet or be held responsible for unforeseen health issues throughout the life-span of your Kitten.

  1. Other important terms

9.1 Nobody else has any rights under these Terms. These Terms are between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of these terms.

9.2 Which laws apply to these Terms and where you may bring legal proceedings.
These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the English courts. No other country will have jurisdiction regarding a dispute under this contract.

9.3 Alternative dispute resolution. Alternative dispute resolution is a process where an
independent body considers the facts of a dispute and seeks to resolve it, without you
having to go to court. If you are not happy with how we have handled any complaint, you may want to contact an alternative dispute resolution provider.
